NATIONAL CENTRE FOR SUPPORTING VOCATIONAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION
is a central, public, national-level institution providing professional development services for teachers subject to the Ministry of National Education and Science.
The mission of the Centre is to:
- inspire, prepare and coordinate activities related to professional development of teachers from vocational schools and schools for adults.
- prepare and execute educational ventures related to the stages of educational transformation in Poland.
The Centre cooperates with other central government and educational institutions as well as non-government organizations from Poland and abroad. The Centre collects, processes and disseminates pedagogical information related to vocational and continuing education.
Since September 2000, inspired by the Ministry, the Centre has issued a bimonthly magazine Nowa Edukacja Zawodowa (New Vocational Education). The information published in the magazine concerns vocational and continuing education and new initiatives taken on by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The National Centre for Supporting Vocational and Continuing Education is also the publisher of the e-magazine Eduk@tor Zawodowy.

- Recognizes and analyzes educational needs of teachers from vocational schools and schools for adults.
- Creates and develops systems of pedagogical information in the field of vocational and continuing education, creates databases and information banks.
- Inspires and coordinates activities aiming at improving the quality of vocational and continuing education.
- Cooperates with national partners in order to enhance the quality of vocational and continuing education.
- Compiles and publishes information and training resources as well as with promotes innovative activities.
- Publishes the e-magazine Eduk@tor Zawodowy.

- Organizes, coordinates and monitors in-service training of in-service staff as regards vocational and continuing education.
- Organizes trainings for methodical counsellors working with vocational subjects.
- Cooperates in the field of teachers' in-service training with local educational authorities, regional government authorities responsible for teacher in-service training centres, Continuing Education Centres, Practical Training Centres, Central Examination Commission, as well as with other Polish and foreign partners.

- Prepares the staff for the guidance and counselling system in the area of vocational and continuing education.
- Prepares publications supporting vocational counsellors.
- Implements the National Resource Centre for Vocational Guidance/ Euroguidance Network Project within the Leonardo da Vinci programme.
- Publishes informaton in PLOTEUS - Portal on Learning Opportunities Throughout the European Space.
- Implements the Compilation and Dissemination of Didactical Resources for Students' Career Planning Project as part of the European Social Fund - Sectoral Operational Programme of Human Resources Development.

- Monitors and inspires changes in programme bases of education in professions.
- Prepares materials and projects of system solutions as regards curricula.
- Runs consultations with regard to designing module and subject curricula as well as designing educational packages.
- Compiles examples of vocational curricula, including module curricula and educational packages.
- Disseminates module vocational education and prepares teachers to implementation of module curricula and educational packages in vocational education.
- Monitors, inspires and compiles resources and projects of system solutions in the field of vocational textbooks.
